Betty Jean Mary Miles Varone (1951-2004)

After a long and courageous struggle against breast cancer, Betty Jean (BJ), age 53, passed peacefully into our Lord's hands on December 24, 2004. BJ was born August 9, 1951, in Elkland, PA to C. William (Bill), deceased and Carmella Casterella Miles. BJ is survived by her husband of 33 years, Robert; children: Robert, Jr., Bryan and Tracy; and two grandchildren: Jayce and Brooklyn. She is also survived by two sisters: Rosemary Lefflbine and Joanne Chrzescijanek; and many other family and friends, all of whom she loved very much. BJ, a resident of Virginia Beach, VA since 2000, was an active member in her church and community. Prior to her moving, she resided for 26 years in LaGrangeville, NY. BJ had a strong Faith, optimism, compassion and love for life. Her childlike playfulness and notorious laugh brought comfort and joy to all those who experienced them. Throughout her lifetime, she extended herself by unconditionally and selflessly supporting others. She touched hundreds of lives and although she is no longer with us, she has left her legacy in the hearts of all those who knew and were affected by her. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, January 22 at the Trinity United Methodist Church on Cross Rd. in LaGrangeville, NY 12540.
