Robert J. Sassone (1951-2017)

NORWOOD-- Robert J. (Bob) Sassone, 66, died December 29, 2017 at his home with family his family at his side following a long battle with cancer. Bob was born on August 23, 1951, in Valhalla, New York. He graduated from Mamaroneck High School in 1969 and from Clarkson University in 1973. He then attended and graduated from Case Western Reserve University Law School in 1976. Following his graduation, Bob worked for a large multi-national law firm in Cleveland, Ohio. In July, 1977, Bob returned to the North Country and opened his own law office in Norwood, New York, where he practiced law continuously until his retirement on January 1, 2014. In addition to his work, Bob enjoyed playing golf, bicycling in Montreal, hiking with his family and playing racquetball. Bob was a communicant of St. Andrew's Church, Norwood and he was a long-time member at the Potsdam Town & Country Club. He was also a member of the New York State and St. Lawrence County Bar Associations, the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Sheila, and by his daughter Jennifer Thomas-Sassone and Dennis Weyland of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; his four sons: Matthew and Lisa (Tiernan) Sassone of Fulton, NY, Michael Sassone and Caitlin Norton of Queens, NY, Patrick Sassone of Baldwinsville, NY, and Dominick Sassone and Rachel Fox of Norwood, NY. He is also survived by four grandchildren. Bob was predeceased by his brother, Alexander Sassone.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 2nd from 3-7pm. at the Buck Funeral Home in Norwood and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Andrew's Church, Norwood, on Wednesday, January 3rd at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Msgr. John Murphy presiding. Burial will be held in the Bayside Cemetery, Potsdam. HILL--Janet E. (Schwartz), death came to Janet near midnight as November 5th, 2007 came to a close. Until the end, after battling death valiantly for 19 years, Janet's spark of life finally gave way when her weary struggling spirit surrendered to the inevitable. She leaves behind grieving parents, Marvin and Gloria Schwartz, her devoted son, Joshua, two beloved brothers, Robert M. Schwartz, Esq. and Dr. John J. Schwartz, John's dear wife, Lynda Harbold Schwartz, niece, Laura, nephew, Jack, and loving aunt, Arline Feigen. In their grief, they and the many others touched by her in her time, tearfully bid her farewell. As long as recollections have been meant to endure, Janet will be remembered by her family and others with love and a sigh for the emptiness left by her passing. A graveside service will be conducted at the interment at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. Shiva at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin L. Schwartz in Larchmont, New York will be observed from the 13th to the 15th of November, 2007.

Ralph Stabile of Greenwich, CT formerly of the Bronx, passed away on February 9, 2015. He was 66. Born in the Bronx to the late Catello and Yolanda Stabile. Ralph is survived by his cherished children Lisa Chernok-Stabile, Melissa Sutton and Gina Torres, dear siblings Joseph Stabile, Denise Paterno and Renee Tozzo. Deborah Lee Cooney, BEDMINSTER, New Jersey

Deborah Lee Wedsworth Cooney, 46, died Thursday (July 17, 1997) at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville of respiratory complications associated with multiple sclerosis. Born in Columbus, Ohio, she had lived in Bedminster and the Cedar Oaks Care Center in South Plainfield before moving to Harborside Nursing Home in Bridgewater recently. She was a member of Pluckemin Presbyterian Church. She was a word processor for GPU in Waretown. Surviving are her mother, Phyllis Wedsworth of Bedminster; her father, the Rev. Thomas Healy-Wedsworth of Berkeley Heights; a daughter, Erin Elizabeth Cooney; two sisters, Pamela Lyn Weathers of New York City and Jane Ellen Klafter of Allen, Texas; and two brothers, Tom Jeffrey Wedsworth of Chapel Hill, N.C., and David Scott Wedsworth of Indianapolis. A service will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 9 at Pluckemin Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Belmar, N. J., or to the Pluckemin Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund.
